The Guiribitey Family Foundation, in partnership with IKEA, delivered more than fourteen pallets of essential household linens to families served by the Miami-Dade County Public Schools Migrant Education Program in Homestead.
This donation included bedding sets, fitted sheets, flat sheets, pillowcases, bath towels, hand towels, washcloths, comforters, duvet inserts, duvet covers, blankets, and throws, providing families with the essentials needed to rest, reset, and feel cared for at home.
This support will reach all three migrant camps in Homestead, impacting approximately 30 families in each camp and bringing meaningful relief to nearly 90 families in total.
For many migrant families, stability is not always guaranteed. Long work hours, financial strain, and transitional living conditions can create daily stress for both parents and children. While clean sheets and warm blankets may seem simple, they play a powerful role in restoring dignity and creating a sense of safety at home.
At the Guiribitey Family Foundation, our mission is rooted in caring for underserved communities and strengthening mental health through practical, compassionate action. A stable, comfortable home environment directly affects emotional well-being. When children are able to sleep peacefully, they are better able to focus, learn, and regulate their emotions. When parents feel supported, stress is reduced and resilience grows.
This initiative reflects our belief that mental health is not only addressed through clinics and counseling, but also through the conditions that shape everyday life. Rest, comfort, and security are foundational to well-being.
Through our partnership with IKEA and collaboration with Miami-Dade County Public Schools’ Migrant Education Program, we are continuing our commitment to serve vulnerable families in ways that are tangible, dignified, and deeply human.
Because when we care for the underserved, we strengthen the mental and emotional foundation of our entire community.
